WHBLC COVID-19 Response
Updated Nov 23rd, 2020
We welcome the Victorian Government's announcement yesterday that we have moved to the 'Last Step' of restrictions toward returning to 'COVID Normal'.
This will facilitate a return to public worship services on Sunday, Nov 29th. Our two Worship Centres will be limited to a maximum number of 75 (St Philips) and 40 (Martin Luther) respectively in accordance with the new restrictions.
Registration will be required for each worship service to ensure we do not exceed this cap on numbers. You are able to register from the homepage of this website.
Our services will continue to be live streamed on our YouTube channel , or can be accessed via our WHBLC@Home portal on this website. Please see below for details.
Our WHBLC@Home Portal contains links to alternative study material and worship opportunities during this time. Here you will find our weekly online service, links to our Youtube channel of past services, a Listen portal for audio of previous sermons by Pastor Mark, Children's and Youth Ministry resources, and links to many other resources provided by the LCANZ.
Whilst we can once again return to worshipping together, and we will be collecting a weekly offering, we ask you to consider continuing to give your regular offerings through Regular Electronic Giving (REG) wherever possible. The LCA provides helpful information on the benefits of REG. One off contributions can be made if you do not wish to set up a regular giving plan, but I encourage you to prayerfully consider signing up to REG if you haven't already done so. It really is a wonderful way to ensure God is getting your first fruits. Our REG details are available at the bottom of this page.
Remember to continue to look out for your friends and neighbours. Whilst we are enjoying new found freedoms and a return to a more normal life, the impacts from COVID-19 will continue to be felt by many throughout our community that are still out of work, still cautious about mixing with friends and family, and still experiencing much uncertainty in many avenues of life. This crisis is not quite over yet.
Now as much as ever we still have an amazing opportunity to step up and really be the Church. To share with a hurting world the hope, confidence and peace that can only come from knowing Jesus, trusting that He has it all under control.
Finally, and most importantly, continue to pray! Prayer is the most powerful tool we have to bring about healing to a hurting and broken world. Whilst we give thanks to God for the ways he has blessed us here in Australia, we need to be mindful of the terrible situation that continues to unfold in other parts of the world and we pray for healing and peace where it is needed.
God's strength and peace be with us as we continue to navigate this difficult season of life together.
